S5EVENT V1.2
------------

The purpose of these files is to give you a 'quick start' for a proper 'event-driven' program in OPL32. To install it, create a folder C:\System\Apps\S5Event\ and copy all the files (except this one) into it. (You may need to select 'View Preferences' and 'Show System folder' first)

Go to the directory, load S5Event.opl and translate it. (I know you don't need the OPL extension anymore but old habits die hard !!)

You will see that the program responds to all the keys and pen operations by putting up a screen message. In theory, all you have to is substitute your own code for the messages and you will have a program. Obviously it is not that simple, but that is when the fun starts !!

This is not intended to be the perfect solution, or even the correct way to do it. it is just intended as a start point to save you a few hours work in trying to figure out where to begin. I would expect you to finish up changing most of it and adapting it to yours needs.

Please feel free to E-Mail me with any suggestions although I can't guarantee an instant response. Replying to S5BANK E-mail is keeping me very busy. However, I am maintaining a mailing list for any changes, so if you wish to be included please let me know.

I have released this into the public domain, with no copyright limitations. However, if you do use it for a Shareware Program a short advert for my Home Page [http://members.aol.com/alanrichey/] somewhere in the program/documentation would be much appreciated :-)

You might also wish to check on the page for an 'open letter to Shareware authors'. You might just find it interesting.

For existing users of EVENTDEMO:

1.	I renamed it S5EVENT just so it matches the rest of my programs.
2.	The new 'Hot-Key' code is completely contained in the PROC Background: (My thanks to Phil Spencer for this piece of code)
3.	The mini text editor code is in the new PROC TextEditor:and the associated PROC Buffer$: and PROC Buffer"(A$) for switching between a string variable and the dEDITMULTI command.

Happy programming !!

Al
